5. Pilot Features

The IFESS system provides to pilots the convenience of order meals and refreshments without having to leave the cockpit.

5.1. Reserving a Meal

Prior to mealtime, pilots can reserve their meal using IFESS.

1. From any location on the Pilot interface, push the order food button on the Action Panel on the left side of the screen.

The Food Screen will be displayed showing a brief introduction to ordering food on the IFESS system.

2. Push the “Meal” tab on the “Tabs Panel” located at the top of the screen.

A list of available meals is displayed.

If the meal reservation period is over, IFESS will ask you to wait and place your order directly with the Flight Attendant as the meals are delivered.

3. Make a selection by pushing the “Order” button corresponding to the meal you wish to order.

IFESS will prompt for confirmation of the order.

If your selected meal is no longer available, IFESS will ask you to make another selection.

4. To confirm click the “Yes” button otherwise click “No” and make your selection again.

5.2. Ordering a Refreshment

At any time during the flight, pilots can use the IFESS interface to order a refreshment. The order is sent to the “pending orders list” that is displayed on the Flight Attendant interface.

1. From any location on the pilot interface, push the order foodbutton on the Action Panel on the left side of the screen.

The Food Screen will be displayed showing a brief introduction to ordering food on the IFESS system.

2. To order a snack push the “Snacks” button on the “Tabs Panel” located at the top of the screen. To order a non-alcoholic beverage, push the “Drinks” tab.

A list of items available in the selected category will be displayed.

5. Make a selection by pushing the order snacks button corresponding to the item you wish to order.

IFESS will prompt for confirmation of the order.

If there is a charge associated with the item, IFESS will ask you to confirm the charge before adding it to your account.

4. To confirm click the “Yes” button otherwise click “No” and make your selection again.

5.3. Accessing Online Help

To access online help from the terminal simply push the helpbutton located on the Action Panel on the left side of the screen. The online help will provide instructions for each task similar to this user guide.
